I really don't like to do this, but I was so impressed with this place that I just felt like I had to. I do not usually eat at chains, and I certainly don't put them up here for recommendations. But my, this place is cool! From the design to the cups made from corn (I have no idea) to the reasonably healthy and fresh Mediterranean-style food, Zoe's is a great place, and a welcome addition to the available chains in town. The service is unbelievably friendly and helpful, especially for a fast food type joint. We didn't experience any surliness here. Just young kids who acted like they actually enjoyed their job.

Phillip and I both had the tuna salad sandwich and their hibiscus green tea. The bread was whole wheat and the tuna salad tasted like tuna, not mayo and glaum. The rest of the menu looked intriguing, and it didn't appear that you'd have any difficulty finding a healthy meal with plenty of fresh fruits and veggies and whole grain bread.

If you need something fast for lunch and you want to keep it on the healthy side, definitely give Zoe's a try.

Update: I was so impressed with Zoe's food and service that I decided to use them to cater for backstage hospitality for a show. I went in while running errands and spoke with one of the owners - a very young man. He and a buddy have come up from Mobile, Alabama to open this location and he's motivated and excited. He loves Wilmington, loves the people, and loves his job. I got the catering all set up and again, the service I got was incredible. He brought the food out himself to Greenfield Lake and when it arrived, it was hot and delicious. He had taken it off the grill and prepared it minutes before putting it in the car and driving it all the way across town. Great call on letting them handle the food. Everyone loved it and I loved dealing with them. Their trays are reasonably priced and offer a good variety.

My husband was really relluctant to try Zoe's because it is a chain. I kept telling him he had to try it. Now it's one of our favorite quick lunch places. Love your blog by the way. So neat to see a local foodie on blogspot!

I don't normally do chains myself, but these guys are great, and the kids that own it are SO nice.
